Yasmin Morris (AKA Yazmindi)
A rising star of the music scene, Yazmindi took the stage at Face The Music to deliver an unforgettably fun performance with resident trivia house band The Acronyms. She also worked voluntarily on the event team for the past few months to produce the event.
Yazmindi (AKA Yasmin Morris) is a talented local singer-songwriter and proud BayFM radio host of the former youth show, YAC Radio, where she shared her passion for music and community for the past 18 months. She hopes to create a new radio show in the future with her former co-host Max Squires, and so do we!
She has proudly represented BayFM at numerous events including Bluesfest, Great Southern Nights and other youth events to interview established touring artists (The Jungle Giants, Kita Alexander, Steph Strings, Dylan Wright) and young emerging bands for BayFM.
Originally from Cooktown, she has made Byron Bay her home for the past four years, immersing herself in the local community. In 2023, she was honoured with a Young Community Member of the Year nomination from the Byron Shire Council. She serves as the Vice President of the Byron Youth Service, works as an event manager for prominent music festivals such as the Byron Music Festival, and contributes to BayFM events. Yazmindi has also hosted the Women’s Music Industry Forum, providing a platform for female voices in the music industry.
Beyond her musical career, Yazmindi is a passionate music mentor, dedicated to supporting young women in the community. You can often find her performing live across the Byron Bay area, bringing her unique sound to local venues each week.
