Cr Hunter is retiring from local government and hasn’t officially passed the baton to anyone, after serving as the only openly conservative councillor for the past eight years. He shared some reflections and musings on his time serving on local government in the Byron Shire with Bay FM’s Community Newsroom and hint: he says some may be surprised at the conservative views among council candidates.
