Australia’s coalition government has been in power for nine years. Labor has represented the seat of Richmond on the Northern Rivers for the past seventeen years. Will your vote this month continue either trend?

Don't forget to vote
Don’t forget to vote!

Perhaps you’re thinking of supporting The Greens in their aim to gain the balance of power in parliament this May? Or maybe you’ll be swayed by one of the other minor parties represented in Richmond: the Informed Medical Options Party, Clive Palmer’s United Australia Party, the Liberal Democrats Party, and Pauline Hanson’s One Nation are all fielding candidates.

Then again, maybe an independent candidate will win your first preference – there are three running for Richmond.

It’s time for you to exercise your democratic duty, and BayFM and The Echo are here to help.

Who are the ten candidates, and what do they stand for?

Your local independent media have joined forces to host Richmond: Meet the Candidates on Monday, 16 May 2022, in the Byron Theatre from 6 pm.

It is a free event with no allocated seating, so turn up to the Byron Theatre from 5 pm for a 6 pm start.

Can’t make the event… tune into BayFM at 99.9FM or stream bayfm.org from 6 pm on Monday 16 May for a live broadcast. It’s a chance for you to hear from each candidate as they introduce themselves and answer questions from the public.
