This year’s charity run/walk up Mount Chincogan is on September 18.
This is the only day of the year that you are able to ascend Mount Chincogan as the route runs over private land which is closed to the public at other times. The challenging 6.5 km route provides some stunning views of the area.
The Chinny Charge started in 1960 and ran for 40 years, then, after a 16 year hiatus, it was brought back by Mullumbimby Chamber of Commerce in 2017.
The event is open to all 12 years old and over and there is a range of prizes including $500 for first male and female over the line and $250 for first local male and female over the line. There are also prizes for second and third in both of those categories and a range of other awards.
The main event starts at 2PM. It will be a staggered start with runners departing at 2PM and walkers at 2.45PM
