After several days off the airwaves due to power outages caused by Tropical Cyclone Alfred, our broadcast signal is back up and we’re sending out the Community Radio Network Emergency Programming. Back live 7am Monday March 10 2025 with Jodee and Caroline for The Good Chat.

All hail to our legendary tech team!

Matt Day is a Grateful Dead Head and went on Mastermind to prove it! As The Ice Cream Kid he hosts Thursday night’s A Long Strange Trip and on Saturday nights he presents Plundering The Vaults. He also knows a thing or two about transmission towers!

Jarrod Johnson is a computer genius. Famous for riding a Harley Davidson into the Byron Theatre as Eddie in a production of The Rocky Horror Show, Jarrod has been providing the Byron Bay Community Centre (where BayFM is based) with cost effective and creative home built IT solutions for at least 17 years. He’s already plotting how to make us more resilient into the future.

Jaz from North Coast Entertainment is our in-house audio tech whiz who helps keep BayFm Studios and equipment primed to serve our local community. And of course, the world!

It’s people like these guys that make the BayFaMily more than just tick. They make us slick. Massive thank you guys for going the distance for the frequency in extreme conditions.

While Alfred has now been downgraded to a Tropical Low Pressure System, we’ve still got a heap of rain headed our way. At least we’re back in communication, continuing to connect our community in this, our 35th year on air!
