Please also take time to sign the petition regarding freeing political prisoners in Burma, one of whom is Ang San Sui Chi.

Dear Friends

Thank you for taking the time to sign our global Free Burma’s Political Prisoners petition. I wanted to let you know the great news that now over 200,000 people have signed the petition. Thanks to our dedicated supporters we’re well on the way to hitting the ambitious target of 888,888 signatures by the May 24th deadline, but we need your help to get there.

Will you help us by asking your friends, family and colleagues to sign the petition calling for UN Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon to make it his personal priority to secure the release of all of Burma’s political prisoners?

Here are two things you can do right now to help us get 888,888 signatures

1 – Send an email to your friends, family and colleagues asking them to sign the petition (We’ve made it easy for you and included a suggested email below)

2 – Print off the paper petition and ask your friends, family and colleagues to sign it. Download it here http://www.burmacampaign.org.uk/fbppn.htm (download it in the left hand column) or the direct download link is http://www.burmacampaign.org.uk/PDFs/free_prisoners_petition09.pdf

The petition target of 888,888 signatures, symoblises 8.8.88, the day the junta massacred some 3,000 people who courageously protested in Burma’s largest democracy uprising.

Together we’re ensuring the world does not forget Burma’s brave political prisoners.

Thank you for your continued support.
