March 11th International Womens Day

Dear friends, On the show today a Bioneer’s Radio series piece about Women as last Sunday March 8th was International Women’s Day.

I had a wonderful time in Adelaide last week with my Mum helping her celebrate her 86th Birthday and then attending the Womadelaide festival where I got to see up close and personal my favourite artist Rokia Traore. She was terrific as was the Seqou Keita SKQ band, and Speed Caravan. On the Sunday it was so crowded with 30,000 people it was difficult to move around the site. Perhaps it is a case of it becoming so successful with punters other than avid world music fans , like Cat Empire fans, the festival is in danger of loosing its world music fans, and ambience. Next year they plan on a 4 day festival.

Don’t forget there is a Peace Vigil being held on Sunday
