RORY BLOCK. SHAKE ‘EM ON DOWN. A TRIBUTE TO MISSISSIPPI FRED MCDOWELL

Rory Block has become a fine interpreter of early blues artists. Some are accurate interpretations of the original recording others Block treats us to her own interpretations. This recreation of Mississippi Fred McDowell songs falls into the latter category. McDowell has added many songs to the traditional blues genre; Block enhances these classics with additional guitar and choruses. It is worth checking out her others tributes to Robert Johnson and Son House.
