Bluesfest 2011 has a helluva line up. It is also the first time that the Anzac holiday falls during Easter an event that occurs about every 40 years. Hence the application from Bluesfest organisers for an extra day. Punters benefit, locals benefit however not all councillors see it that way and a decision has been deferred until the next meeting of Council. This may not allow the organisers time to book the artists which would be to the detriment of the entire shire. What is it about the council decision making process?

FEATURE ALBUM. THE STEVE MILLER BAND. BINGO. ROADRUNNER RECORDS. RR 7759-5

These are the first new recordings from Steve Miller in 17 years. It has become somewhat of a trend to release a “Blues album” Cyndi Lauper and Tom Jones are just to examples from this year. This album is more true to the spirit featuring covers from Jimmy Vaughan, Howlin’ Wolf, Earl King, Jimmy Reed and others. The album starts with Hey Yeah encouraging us to have some fun. As soon as the band kicks of with this it is unmistakably the Steve Miller band crankin’ up and having fun BINGO! Sadly it also marks the passing of long time Steve Miller Band associate Norton Buffalo happily it also features Sonny Charles on vocals. Great Rock’n’Roll I Love it in the car, in the shed and pounding out over the airways. Welcome Back The Steve Miller Band.
