There is somewhat of a debate happening regarding the future of the blues. A simplification of that debate is – if blues sticks to it’s traditional musical form and the narrow themes of wimmen, whisky, bad times and love gone wrong then is has no future. Musical reviewers and presenters tend to perpetuate this. Is this the case? Your views?

FEATURE ALBUM. LITTLE AXE. BOUGHT FOR A DOLLAR/ SOLD FOR A DIME. REAL WORLD RECORDINGS. 2010. www.theplanetcompany.com There was some early resistance from the conservative and narrow blues community towards Little Axe [Skip McDonald] and his bastardised version of the blues perhaps based on his early hip-hop recordings and other musical ventures. Little Axe has always been a blues player. Listen with open ears and you will be rewarded. Arguably this is Little Axe’s finest recording to date. The most accurate measure of a quality recording is that you get something different from each listen. This is quality. · 4. Take a Stroll. · 6. Can’t Sleep. · 7. Hammerhead. · 8.
