CRUISIN’ FOR A BLUISIN’ PLAYLIST 12.8.10
Mon Dieu, Sacre Bleu the inspector cried he’s playing pop songs on a blues show. Coming from a man whose musical knowledge only extends to “shuffles” this is quite astute. Yes it is a pop show - songs by the Troggs, Beatles, Elvis, Grateful Dead, Temptations, Stevie Wonder, and Prince. Artists such as Rod Stewart, Joan Armatrading, Tom Jones, Cindy Lauper, Tuck and Patti. How could it be anything but? This show will be on-sold to major commercial networks.

FEATURE ALBUM: CYNDI LAUPER-MEMPHIS BLUES MERCER STREET 2010 This is a first for CRUISIN having never featured a track from Cyndi Lauper ever. Some attempts at the “Blues Album” aren’t always successful but Lauper does a mighty fine job. Her voice may not be soaked in Bourbon and gargled with gravel but there is light and energy and fun whilst still doing justice to the blues and Lauper is very comfortable doing the Blues. This will need the support of community radio stations to survive and it deserves to. Lauper enlists Charlie Musselwhite, Allen Toussaint, B.B. King, Jonny Lang and Anne Peebles. Give it some serious thought. · 1. Just Your Fool. · 3. Early in the Morning. · 5. How Blue Can You Get. · 6. Down Don’t Bother Me. · 7. Don’t Cry No More. · 8.
