  • Sat 10am - Cowboy's Sweetheart   ( 71 Articles )

Carrie DeeThe Cowboy’s Sweetheart is a programme of roots country music, dedicated to good music and to exploring the edges of this great genre. It has been airing Saturday mornings on BayFM for 14 years.

The music includes honky-tonk, bluegrass, western swing, country folk, cowboy, Tex-Mex and cajun, heritage and lots of singer/songwriters.

Every week I feature a new release album, giving some extra background into the artist, the genre, or other related material. I also celebrate birthdays of artists, and play tributes when we lose some of the greats.

The music is like a winding road - always opening out ahead, with lots of tempting sideroads to be discovered and explored.

Lizzie and ShandyToasted is presented by Lady Marmalade.

"Music has always been an essential part of my life, and I have a broad taste in music, covering many genres. So you can expect to hear a different mix of music each week. I am influenced by having such a fantastic range of musicians coming to play in this area, and of course being exposed to such great local talent with their original music. There is also a great mix of music played on BayFM.
I love BayFM, and have met some great people over the years I have been involved, and I believe that community radio is such an essential voice.
I have been involved in many different crafts, from pottery, mosaics, most painting mediums and being a Taurean I love my garden.
That's Shandy, my faithful four legged friend with me...

I also make a mean jar of marmalade."

Are you ready to travel back in time? Add to your Saturday night pleasure with the Undertaker and Joan of Arc and journey through the music you know so well. Each show reflects and profiles a year in music for your enjoyment. Do you remember the music of 1974? 1983? How about 2005? We will cover any year from the 1960’s to today, with the occasional special program thrown in. To ensure we don’t miss any of the classics, we have eight special song selectors so all styles and genres are catered for.  Listen up for the choice morsels from the Gravedigger,  the Stonemason, Anything but Ordinary, Kat’s Track, DJ Rapunzel, Sylvia’s Soppy Song Selection, and Anthony Moulay’s (blues track), as well as DJ Doug the gardener’s number one track in Australia for the corresponding week in the profiled year.  We look forward to your company each Saturday night as we go Diggin’ in the Archives.
